Bill is working with Jack (Graf Galan vom Dobereich, CGN, BH), a five-year-old Doberman pinscher who is adept at coming up with new training challenges that test Bill’s handling skills, not to mention his sense of humour. As Bill has discovered more about the sport of Schutzhund/IPO, he has come to view training as an art and to appreciate the importance of nurturing the bond between dog and handler.
Alan has participated in Schutzhund/IPO since 2004, working with Kaos (Kaos Uma Casa de Mandingo) to earn a SchH2. Though Kaos is now retired, Alan is an enthusiastic coach and teacher who enjoys helping handlers prepare for for competition and bring out the best in their dogs.
Suzy and her three-year old female GSD, Keera (Keera von der Rhineburg, BH), are now training toward an IPO1.
Leigh is training with her GSDs, Luciana von Amalaberg, BH, AD, and Aron vom Altenberger Land, BH, who distinguished themselves by winning their classes at the 2012 Québec Regional Championship and Sieger Show. Leigh recently earned entry-level helper certification and is looking forward to doing more work with the club dogs.
Though Dyanne isn’t handling a dog, she is keenly interested in the sport and in the progress of Jack, the Doberman pinscher she co-owns with Bill Williams. She is also an enthusiastic coach, which explains why Bill’s sense of humour is essential.
Anthony started in dog sports in 2003 with his Rottweiler, Neo, and joined the GSSCC in 2004. In 2006, he became a certified trial helper with the GSSCC when its helper program was created and earned national certification the next year. He is also a certified helper with DVG America and a level 3 helper for SCC (France). Anthony has worked a number of club trials, as well as regionals and the Canadian GSD nationals in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2014. He worked the French GSD nationals in 2012, and in 2014, he was one of the helpers selected to work the WUSV GSD World Championship in Haguenau, France.
Anthony is currently training his young malinois, Dr Pepper Betking dvor, aka Piccolo.
Jane and her GSD, Star (Star of Hope vom Bayou Land, CGN, TEC) earned a BH at our club trial in September 2014. Jane has recently acquired a new pup, Eska von den Roten Vorbergen, and is looking forward to fulfilling her promise in the sport.
In the late 1980s, Michaela started training her German shepherd, Denny SNB, in the Czech Republic, following the ZVV national program. At the time, IPO was less of a sport than now, and the dog was required to perform in a more natural environment (e.g., search for the helper in the woods, climb ladders, etc.). Michaela and Gandalf vd Schiffslache earned an IPO3 in 2013 but won’t be able to continue protection training because of Gandy’s health issues, so he is now working towards FH titles. Michaela is also training her young female malinois, Cicka (Coca Cola Betkin Dvor, BH).
Karen is putting her experience as a trainer to work as she and Next, a rescued malinois, team up to overcome Next’s issues and learn about the sport of Schutzhund. At our club trial in September 2014, this team earned a BH.
Juli is learning about Schutzhund as she trains her young German shepherd, Neeka (Carissima’s Xei), toward a BH — and beyond.
Nick is experiencing the “joys” of puppy energy and enthusiasm, as he and Prince team up to learn the ropes of Schutzhund/IPO.
John recently qualified as a club helper and is looking forward to taking his GSDs, Charlie, BH, and Casey, BH, AD, to the next stage and earning an IPO1. He is also working with Alan and Anthony to help the club dogs reach their potential.
Kellie is training her male GSD, Magnum (Magnum von der Bastille), toward a BH. In the near future, Kellie is looking forward to introducing her female, Gwen (Gwen vom Fichtenwald), to the sport.
Ryan is helping Kellie and Magnum as he learns about the sport and helps out at the club. He recently earned entry-level helper certification and is keen to put his new skills to work.

Eve and her enthusiastic young German shepherd, Dredd (Wild Winds Judge Dredd), have teamed up to work toward a BH and to learn more about Schutzhund/IPO.
Mark Grossman is working diligently with his German shepherds, six-year-old Boss (Tyjam’s vom Boston Grossman), and one-year-old Hugo (Tyjam’s Sir Hugo von Grossman), to take both dogs as far as he can in the sport.
In 2010, Monica brought home a Doberman puppy and started in the sport of Schutzhund/IPO and became a GSSCC member. She is currently training Riva von Luka, BH, IPO-VO, FPr1, IPO1, Am/Cdn RN, BN, P-CD, CGC, CGN, WAC, and her new puppy Caden vom Hexenzauber. Riva and Monica have been fortunate to train with various clubs in the USA and Canada since they began in IPO. She is a member of the GSSCC, the United Doberman Club, the Canadian Kennel Club and the United States Schutzhund Association. At our recent club trial, Monica and Riva not only earned an IPO1, but also captured the awards for high tracking, high IPO1 and high in trial.
