Ruth Longfield
President
Member of YRSC since 2008
Breed(s): Doberman Pinscher

Ruth has owned, bred, trained and competed with Doberman pinschers for more than 25 years. She is proud to say that Emmy (Ch Bryn’s Unchained Melody, BH, SchHA, CD, CDX), was the first conformation champion and Schutzhund-titled Doberman in Canadian history to be trained and handled by her breeder and owner. Emmy earned her CDX and SchHA one week apart when she was 9-1/2 years old.

A member of the CKC, GSSCC, DPCA and a former director of Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada, Ruth has participated in Schutzhund since 2003 and is currently training and competing with Trav (American and Canadian Ch Soquel’s Saturday Night Fever), BH, CGN, CD, in CKC and AKC conformation, obedience and Schutzhund. Ruth is also looking for a new special girl.

Alan Fielding
Vice-President and Training Director
Member of YRSC since 2008
Breed(s): Bouvier des Flandres

Alan has participated in Schutzhund since 2004, working with Kaos (Kaos Uma Casa de Mandingo) to earn a SchH2. Though Kaos is now retired, Alan is an enthusiastic coach and teacher who enjoys helping handlers prepare for competition and bring out the best in their dogs.

Bill Williams
Secretary–Treasurer
Member of YRSC since 2009
Breed(s): Doberman Pinscher

Bill is working with Jack (Graf Galan vom Dobereich, CGN), a four-year-old Doberman pinscher who is adept at coming up with new training challenges that test Bill’s neophyte handling skills, not to mention his sense of humour. As Bill discovers more about the sport of Schutzhund, he is coming to view training as an art and to appreciate the importance of nurturing the bond between dog and handler.

Dyanne Rivers
Social Convener
Member of YRSC since 2009
Breed(s): Doberman Pinscher

Though Dyanne isn’t handling a dog, she is keenly interested in the sport and in the progress of Jack, the Doberman pinscher she co-owns with Bill Williams. She is also an enthusiastic coach, which explains why Bill’s sense of humour is essential.

Michaela Bouzkova
Member of YRSC since 2013
Breed(s): German Shepherd Dog

In the late 1980s, Michaela started training her German shepherd, Denny SNB, in the Czech Republic, following the ZVV national program. At the time, IPO was less of a sport than now, and the dog was required to perform in a more natural environment (e.g., search for the helper in the woods, climb ladders, etc.). Michaela is now training Gandalf vd Schiffslache, IPO1.
